Herefordshire - May 23

The Society made a welcome come back recently when 24 members made the journey to Herefordshire to play both the Burghill and Herefordshire Golf courses in what turned out be glorious weather.

After avoiding two cycling events and many closed roads on the way to Burghill, the players set off on the challenging course with the following results. With a marvellous round, Paul “Goodbye” Marsden came first followed closely by Tom “Tiger” Woods and Rob “The Builder” Nixon. Team prize went to Alan “Sooth” Sayers, Paul “Roy” Rogers, Paul “Heavens” Evans, and Jack “Barrybados” Zeraschi. Longest Drive prize went to Barry “Nippy” Neale whilst Meurig “Careful” Evans was Nearest the Pin.

After an excellent overnighter at a local hotel we wound our way to The Herefordshire where Bob “Dixie” Forrest triumphed. Nippy and Barrybados came second and third. They also partnered Rob The Builder, and  Steve “Gizmo” Jones for the best team prize. Longest Drive went to Sooth, and Idwal “Diddy Iddy” David was nearest the Pin.

Overall Green Jacket winner was Dixie. Only two Two’s were recorded by John “Flutter” Williams, and Diddy Iddy. Wooden Spoonists were Graham “Bubba” Watson and Nigel “Scissors” Taylor.

Two days of fun excellently organised by Nippy Neale.
